QuickBooks for Mac 2019 R12 has been released to resolve this issue.
To install this update: 1. Open QuickBooks (If you have auto update enabled you should be prompted and can just skip to step 3) 2. Go to QuickBooks > Check for QuickBooks Updates 3. Follow the on screen instructions

Some customers are encountering the error "QuickBooks Lost Connection to company file" when opening a shared file in QuickBooks Mac 2019. We’re aware of this issue and are working to fix it.
